How To Apply Mineral Makeup

To maximize the appearance of your makeup application, start off with a good skin care regiment. Your regiment should include cleansing, toning, hydrating and moisturizing. Be sure that your skin care products include SPF, LotusMinerals has naturally occurring SPF, but it is always good to layer the skin with sun protection. Of course good nutrition and hydrating your body are other very important factors in helping your skin maintain its natural glow!

Once you’ve completed your daily skin care regiment, you can add the finishing touches with your LotusMinerals mineral makeup. There are several ways to apply your makeup, we offer a few guidelines and tips below so that you may decide what works best for you.

How to Apply:

1. With the cap closed, shake a small amount of the foundation onto the sifter inside the jar.
2. With a wide-rounded brush, swirl the brush into the makeup, flick the brush to remove any excess and blend onto face in circular motion.
3. Blend up from the jaw line and cover your entire face.
4. Allow a few minutes between layers to give the minerals time to warm up to your face.

Tips:

• Some find it easier to spill a little of the product into the cap of the jar, swirl the brush into the cap, flick the excess off and blend.
• Remember a little goes a long way!
• Add in layers until you achieve the desired results.
• Be sure the minerals are well brushed onto your skin to avoid a streaky look, with attention to the pores.
• Tools of the trade vary from person to person. A wide dome topped brush is preferred when applying foundation, providing a wider area to blend your makeup in evenly.

  The Kabuki brush is a small, thick haired brush and is an effective tool for applying mineral foundation. This brush gives a heavier coverage than other brush types because much more makeup remains in the brush after you tap.

Other Possible Applications for These Colors:

Eyeliner:

• Tap a small amount of the powder into the lid, take a thin eyeliner brush and wet it, swirl the dampened brush into the powder until you achieve your desired consistency and color.

Powdered Lip Shimmer:

• For lighter shadow colors, with your brush, sweep across your lips before applying your favorite lipstick or clear gloss or balm.

Nails:

• Before applying nail polish, sweep sparkly color across your nails for a great shimmer.
